Maths- Statistics

We have been learning about statistics in Maths. This means to collect and sort data. We have been looking at our favourite colour and favourite type of fruit. Once we collected our data we put it onto our graph. Can you guess what our favourite fruit or colour is by looking at our graph?

POP POP Popcorn !!!!!

Today we made YUMMY popcorn in Room 1. We talked about what popcorn/kernels are and what happens to it when the kernels are in the popcorn machine. We watched and we waited. The popcorn machine made a funny noise and heated up. We could see the kernels pop pop popping. We had 3 cups of popcorn. We will be writing about it tomorrow. We had lots of fun.

ICC Cricket World Cup- 2015

We were very lucky in Room 1 Arlo's granddad brought in a replica 2015 Cricket Wold Cup trophy. We talked about the cricket and the 2015 world cup. We were also given flags. We went outside and waved our flags and cheered. We came back inside and wrote about the world cup.

 

 

Race Relations Day - 20th March 2015

On Friday 20th March 2015 we had Race Relations Day. We wore an outfit from our culture or a culture we liked. We had an amazing assembly that Mrs Kapisi Organised for us. We walked across the stage and waved our New Zealand flags. At 12:30 the whole school had a yummy shared lunch where we ate food from different cultures. We had so much fun.

Swimming

Room 1 have been learning about water safety and water confidence. We have been learning to:

• Get in and out of the pool safely. 
• How to put your head under the water.
• How to use a flutter board and equipment safely and sensibly 
• How to float in the water (front and back) 
• Basic water games and activities. 

Room 1 are swimming at 2:15 every Thursday during term 1. Come and see room 1 in action!!!!!!!!. 

Happy Green Day

HAPPY GREEN DAY !!!!!!

Room 1 had lots of fun on Green Day. We dressed in green. We learnt about our environment and how to look after it. We weeded the room 1 garden and we watered the swan plants. We had lots of fun.

We have been learning about Chinese New Year and the Lantern Festival. Mrs Murray showed us pictures and we wrote about it. During Art time we made lanterns.
